At the Schwerte site (formerly Dortmund), we are one of three test centres recognized by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) to test new domestic ventilation units on the ventilation technology, thermodynamics and tightness test benches. The test results form the basis for applying for a type approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) in Berlin, a certificate from the Passive House Institute (PHI), Darmstadt, or serve to meet the requirements of European directives.
The TZWL test center
European test center for domestic ventilation units
We are a nationally and internationally recognized, accredited testing laboratory for ventilation units with and without heat recovery and moisture recovery. At our location in Schwerte, we test ventilation units as well as heat pumps, also combined with ventilation as a combination unit, air conditioning and split units, comparable systems and devices as well as components of ventilation units such as fans or heat exchangers.

Testing of components such as fans or heat exchangers
It goes without saying that we observe your wishes and the national, European and international requirements for all our own tests and tests via our cooperation offer.
The test center at the Schwerte site
We examine all relevant key figures for domestic ventilation on our test benches
Test bench for determining the appliance tightness using the pressure method. The determination includes testing the tightness of the appliance housing, the internal appliance tightness and the flap tightness
Test stand for determining appliance leak tightness using the tracer gas method. Using tracer gas, we determine the appliance tightness for selected appliance systems using this measurement method
Ventilation technology test bench for determining the efficiency of the fans. The energy consumption of the fans and the volume flows of the devices are determined on this test stand.
Thermodynamic test stand for decentralized ventilation units. We use this test stand to measure the energy efficiency of devices with operating ranges of max. 100 m³/h, primarily decentralized devices.
Thermodynamic test stand for central ventilation units. We use this test stand to measure the energy efficiency of appliances with operating ranges of approx. 50 to 600 m³/h, primarily central appliances.
Flushing chamber test bench for changeover devices. With this test stand, we meet the requirements of the DIBt for testing changeover units. The volume flows of the appliances and their energy efficiency are determined here.
