The cooperation between TZWL and DMT enables manufacturers of ventilation units to commission air hygiene tests via TZWL.
Dr. Dirk Renschen, Head of Product Testing Refrigeration & Air Quality at the >> DMT Group in Essen, and the TZWL in Dortmund have agreed to cooperate in the field of air hygiene.
Manufacturers of domestic ventilation units can now order tests of pocket filters in accordance with the ISO 16890 test standard directly from TZWL, as well as tests of HEPA filters in accordance with DIN EN 1822 and hygiene conformity tests of room air filters.
Furthermore, air purifiers and air conditioning boxes can also be tested in cooperation.
Dr. Meinolf Gringel, Head of the Testing Department for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Technology at the DMT and Chairman of the TZWL, believes that the cooperation will strengthen the TZWL’s testing services: “Thanks to the close cooperation, we can also test domestic ventilation units according to hygienic measurement data. With these inspections, we promote the topic of air quality and support the manufacturers of ventilation units in their further development.” According to Gringel, device technology is subject to constantly increasing requirements in terms of air quality and must therefore be geared more towards user comfort.
Ventilation units protect against indoor air contamination
In addition to building protection and energy savings, the third pillar of mechanical home ventilation is increasing living comfort. Clean indoor air is particularly important here. The ventilation unit must provide fresh air in sufficient quantities at all times and efficiently remove contaminated air.
The experience of the first few years of the coronavirus pandemic has shown us just how important these considerations have become. Whether ventilation unit or air purifier, healthy breathing air should always be worth it to us.
Demand-based humidification of the fresh air also places high demands on the appliance technology. Under no circumstances should the appliance itself contaminate the air due to development or installation errors. High standards of technical hygiene must be maintained by manufacturers of ventilation units and specialist installers. The improvement of these standards, which TZWL and DMT are jointly promoting, is a core element in the development of the next generation of ventilation units.
TZWL and DMT have been offering comprehensive testing services for years
The new cooperation is based on the existing collaboration between TZWL and DMT. Both companies have already worked together successfully in the areas of acoustics, testing of devices, customer consulting and other projects. This additional range of services further intensifies the cooperation.
